About the event
This spring, step through the gates of Fort Steele and celebrate new beginnings the old-fashioned way!
Spring is arriving, and we’re celebrating with a full day of family fun. Join us for a festive welcome to the season and experience the sights, sounds, and activities of spring at the Fort.
Meet our animals — including our Clydesdales, chickens, ducks, sheep, and of course the adorable baby lambs — enjoy wagon rides and rope-making demonstrations too! Visit the gardening booth to learn from local volunteers and plant a seed to take home. At Lambi House, watch members of the Fibre Arts Guild demonstrate spinning, knitting, and fibre processing, and explore historic trades at our leather shop, printshop, and tinsmith shop.
Families can also enjoy lawn games, children’s crafts, a Signs of Spring scavenger hunt with prizes, a film in the theatre, fresh baking from the bakery, and community information booths. We will have live…
